Al-Bayda – Saleh Boumbaraka announced new regulations. He is the Director of Animal Wealth Management in Al-Bayda, Al-Jabal al-Akhdar Municipality. A “release letter” is now mandatory for transporting poultry. This applies within the municipality and its suburbs. A joint committee will resume field operations next week. The Public Prosecution Office commissioned this committee. It will implement a strict monitoring approach.
Boumbaraka clarified this to the Libyan News Agency. The Agricultural Police will impound poultry transport vehicles lacking approved release letters. This enforcement begins next Saturday. The measure currently focuses solely on the poultry sector. It aims to ensure public health. It also seeks to prevent any violations.
Boumbaraka explained the purpose of the “release letter.” It verifies three essential criteria. First, poultry must be healthy and free from diseases and bacteria. Second, it must meet the legal age for consumption. Third, it must adhere to the approved legal weight. Adherence to these standards protects consumers. It also regulates the local market.
The director criticized negligence by some poultry farm owners. They practice indiscriminate slaughter without veterinary checks. He stressed the need for stricter penalties. He also called for active oversight from the joint committee. This committee includes health, animal production, and agricultural police representatives. It operates under the supervision of the Public Prosecution Office.
Boumbaraka concluded by affirming strict enforcement. The administration will not tolerate any laxity in applying controls. He urged all breeders and farm owners to fully comply. The “release letter” is crucial for food safety. It helps regulate the market. It protects citizens from negligent practices.
