Minister of Local Government, Sami Al-Dhawi, called on Libya’s municipal councils to “prioritize public interest” and “side with the homeland”
In a statement marking Islamic holy month of Ramadan, Al-Dhawi, who serves in the cabinet of Prime Minister-designate Fathi Bashagha, said “at this sensitive stage of the nation’s history, we assure our honorable people that we are just their servants. We are only working on how to get Libya out of the waves of chaos to the shore of stability.”
“We aspire to be the first building block on the road to building the nation after years of wars, conflicts and divisions,” he said.
“We seek with all our might to push towards dissolving differences, and the return of the country to a unified entity that represents all Libyans,” he concluded.
