Tripoli – The General Electricity Company announced on Thursday evening the arrival of a new shipment of materials and spare parts at the Sarir Gas Power Station site, as part of its ongoing program to maintain generation units.
The company explained in a statement that this shipment is intended for completing the major overhaul of the third gas unit, which is scheduled to enter service soon after the completion of preparations and mechanical work, adding about 350 megawatts to the grid’s production capacity.
The company affirmed that this step is part of an integrated plan aimed at maintaining and rehabilitating generation units at various stations, in order to raise performance levels and increase production, to keep pace with the growing demand for electrical energy and ensure a stable supply to all cities and regions.
