Benghazi – The Benghazi Education Monitor, Jumaa Belaid, announced that the Monitoring office has actually begun implementing what was agreed upon during his recent meeting with the Director of the Development and Reconstruction Fund, Belgasim Haftar.
Belaid affirmed that the results of the meeting represented a starting point for a new path aimed at developing the education sector and raising the efficiency of the infrastructure of educational institutions in the city.
Belaid explained in a statement to the Libyan News Agency that subsequent meetings focused on preparing a precise vision for the needs of kindergartens from the technical, educational, and logistical aspects, in addition to developing plans to activate field, cultural, and sports visits, in a way that supports the development of students’ skills and enhances the enrichment aspect of the educational process.
He added that work is also underway to develop school activities of all kinds, from Quran and poetry competitions, to musical and theatrical activities.
The work also includes conducting a comprehensive inventory of textbook shortages in some educational institutions, and identifying the technical and logistical needs of each office according to clear criteria that ensure the implementation of development projects in an effective and balanced manner within Benghazi.
Belaid pointed out that the current phase is based on the principle of partnership between the educational authorities and the Reconstruction Fund, “as investing in the school environment is an investment in the student and the future of society.”
He noted that the directors of offices and departments have begun preparing executive proposals and detailed visions that will be referred to the Fund to be transformed into practical, implementable projects.
He stressed at the conclusion of his statement that the continuous efforts represent the beginning of a new development phase aimed at advancing the educational process and enhancing the services provided to students within the city.
