Police in Benghazi has arrested a man who committed an armed robbery while masquerading as an officer of the Libyan National Army (LNA), announced the city’s Security Directorate.
On Saturday, the 27-year-old man robbed a grocery store in Ben Younis area and shot the Sudanese shopkeeper twice before fleeing in his black Opel Corsa, according to Benghazi Security Directorate.
The police interviewed the shopkeeper, who was recovering from his injuries in Al-Jalaa Hospital, and collected CCTV footage from the crime scene, which enabled them to identify the culprit and apprehend him.
