Ajadbiya – The General Company for Water and Wastewater announced a collapse. It occurred in Ajadbiya’s main sewage pumping line. This happened on Friday. The main pumping station was temporarily shut down. This prepares for urgent maintenance work. The work will last for several days.
Mohammed Karim, head of the Media and Awareness Office and official spokesperson for the General Company for Water and Wastewater, clarified the situation. Ajadbiya Services Center received a report. It indicated a subsidence in a public road. This caused the collapse of a 700 mm diameter transfer line. The line was dilapidated. It had operated for many years without fundamental maintenance.
He added that the damaged line is vital. It transports wastewater from pumping stations to the main station. This necessitated an immediate shutdown of the pumping station. This prevents further damage to the network. It also prevents an increased collapse at the site.
He pointed out that specialized technical teams will begin maintenance. Rehabilitation work starts tomorrow, Saturday. This is coordinated between the Wastewater Network Unit and the Stations Maintenance Unit. Both are affiliated with the Ajadbiya Services Office. This falls under the Operations and Maintenance Department in the East Central Region.
He confirmed that the ongoing work aims to repair the damage. The goal is to restart the system as quickly as possible. Necessary measures are being taken. These aim to limit the outage’s impact on citizens. They also ensure stable wastewater services in the city.
