The Libyan outgoing Prime Minister, Abdel Hamid Dbeiebh, received Wednesday afternoon the US envoy to Libya, Ambassador Richard Norland, and Chargé d’Affairs at the US Embassy, Leslie Ordman, to discuss national and international efforts to hold elections in Libya this year, according to Dbeibeh’s government.
They also discussed raising the level of government disclosure and transparency, activating the spending follow-up mechanism and ensuring the fair distribution of revenues.
During the meeting, Dbeibeh affirmed his support for the efforts of the UN envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, praising the effective American role in the Libyan file and its international support for holding the elections.
