The spokesman of the Government of National Unity of Libya, Mohamed Hammouda, has denied the rumors that Libya has deposited a billion dollars in the Tunisian central bank.
Hammouda confirmed, in some statements to the press, that the matter was not discussed in the meetings between the Libyan and Tunisian government delegations.
The President of Tunisia, Kais Saied, received the Prime Minister of the Tripoli-based government, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh yesterday evening at the Carthage Palace for talks aimed at “further strengthening the ties of brotherhood rooted in history and the strong relations of cooperation, collaboration and integration existing between the two countries for the benefit of the two brother peoples”.
The Libyan delegation included the governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Saddek Elkaber.
