Tripoli – Investigators from the Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Agency, Tripoli branch, apprehended several individuals. These individuals belong to a criminal gang. The gang was importing and smuggling cocaine from Nigeria to Libya. They were also trafficking and promoting it within the capital.
The agency reported on Monday that the operation followed confirmed intelligence. This intelligence was received by the head of investigations in Tripoli. It concerned suspicious activities by an African national. This individual was promoting narcotics within the city.
Based on this information, the agency formed an investigation team. A meticulous ambush was prepared. It led to the arrest of two individuals of African nationality. They were found with approximately one kilogram of cocaine.
All necessary legal procedures were taken against the accused. They have been referred to the Anti-Narcotics Public Prosecution in Tripoli. This ensures proper jurisdiction.
