Engineer Belqasim Khalifa Appointed to Lead Libya’s Reconstruction Fund

Engineer Belqasim Khalifa was sworn in on Monday before the President of the House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, to officially assume the role of Director General of Libya’s newly established Reconstruction Fund.

Belqasim Khalifa becomes the first official to hold this position since the establishment of the Fund was ordered by the House of Representatives earlier this month. The Fund will oversee the Benghazi Reconstruction Committee, the Derna Reconstruction Fund, and reconstruction projects across Libya.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by a number of members and leaders of the House of Representatives, according to spokesperson Abdullah Belhaq.
