Spokesman of the government of National Unity (GNU), led by outgoing Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, said the statements of UN Aviser on Libya, Stephanie Williams, do not support stability in Libya and may affect the fueling of the political dispute, bringing back chaos and divide.
The Spokesman said Williams must realize that war and chaos erupt when people do not find an honest and transparent parliament under which to rule when disagreement occurs.
He stated that Williams identifies with the dominant political class’s attempt to disrupt the elections and steal the dream of the 2.8 million Libyans who waited for the elections.
GNU Spokesman pointed out that the elections were suspended by the same parties that made the extension decision, and which Williams supports with her statements.
He added that designating Fathi Bashagha as a new prime minister was against the constitutional declaration and lacked transparency and fair competition to form a parallel government.
