Member of the Libyan Constitutional Committee and the High State Council (HSC), Idris Abu Fayed, said the results of the recent elections held on Tuesday for the presidency of the State Council were invalid, indicating that he is convinced that the winner in those elections was Salah Mito, who came second, not Khaled Al-Mishri, the current president of HSC.
Abu Fayed’s statement came a few hours after Muslims Brotherhood figure, Khaled Al-Mishri, announced that he had won a fourth term for the presidency of the State Council.
“I declare that the president of the State Council, who won yesterday’s elections, August 3, 2021, was Salah Mito, and the loser in the competition, on the other hand, was Khaled Al-Mishri.” Fayed pointed out.
He called for an immediate investigation into the matter.
