Italian Defense Minister Lorenzo Guerini said that his country wants continuation of path of dialogue between parties in Libya.
This came in a statement on the sidelines of his visit to Tunisia, coinciding with the convening of the Italian-Tunisian joint military commission on Tuesday, according to the Tunisian presidency.
During his meeting with Tunisian President Kais Saied and Tunisian Defense Minister Imad Mamish, Guerini discussed the military cooperation between the two countries and the regional situation, especially in Libya and the African coast.
The Italian minister stressed the importance of the two countries’ cooperation for the security of the Mediterranean region.
Guerini also discussed with his Tunisian counterpart the details of bilateral military cooperation, noting that his country possesses advanced industries and technology in the sectors of aviation, helicopters, shipbuilding and defense systems.
