Tripoli – The conference “Islamic Banking in Libya: Between Reality and Areas for Development” kicked off today, Sunday, in Tripoli, under the patronage of the Libyan Authority for Scientific Research, and will last for two days.
A number of academics, bankers, experts, and legislators are participating in the conference. The participants’ speeches addressed the importance of this specialized event in shaping future economic and financial policies in Libya, emphasizing the need for the Authority to support research that contributes to enhancing the country’s economic and financial development.
The conference aims to evaluate current banking systems and legislation, exchange expertise among participants, discuss the reality of Islamic banking in Libya, and analyze its challenges and opportunities, in addition to studying its suitability for the transition to an Islamic banking system.
The conference also explores the role of innovation and financial technology (FinTech) in developing Islamic banking services and improving their efficiency, in a way that enhances economic growth and aligns with international standards in this field.
