The Libyan Administrative Control Authority (ACA) called on the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdel Hamid Dbeibeh, to withdraw his resolution to form a ministerial committee to prepare a draft law for the election of the House of Representatives.
The Administrative Control Authority said that Dbeibeh’s resolution was against the law and flawed, for usurping power and contributing to a state of chaos.
The Authority stated that GNU’s mission is to provide services and create administrative stability; not to exceed to the powers of the legislative authority, noting that the draft of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) stipulated that granting confidence shall be from the House of Representatives.
It added that the work that the government is entitled to do comes within its tasks in providing services only, and it is not permissible to exceed its assigned duties.
