Tripoli – Libyan Minister of Oil and Gas Khalifa Abdul Sadiq met with Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar. They discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the oil, gas, and energy sectors. The meeting occurred on the sidelines of the Second Natural Resources Summit in Istanbul 2026.
The discussions addressed expanding partnership opportunities between Libya and Turkey. They also aimed to boost investment opportunities. Cooperation with global energy companies was a focus. Supporting participation in regional energy projects was another goal.
The Libyan minister reviewed the sector’s targets for the next phase. These targets include increasing production rates. Expanding gas projects is a key objective. Developing infrastructure is also prioritized. This development includes the “Greenstream” pipeline. The pipeline is crucial for exporting gas to European markets.
Both sides affirmed the importance of developing joint strategic projects across various energy fields. These projects will contribute to supporting energy security. They will also foster sustainable development. This will benefit both regional and international levels.
