Benghazi – The Libyan government and Chad discussed strengthening bilateral ties. They also reviewed activating joint agreements.
Libyan Foreign Minister Abdulhadi Al-Hweij received Chadian Foreign Ministry Secretary General Mohamed Issa Zakaria. The meeting took place at the Ministry’s headquarters in Benghazi. Chad’s Consul General in Benghazi, Hassan Ahmed Dayeri, and his accompanying delegation attended.
According to the Ministry’s media office, several officials were present. These included Abdulsalam Al-Ruqaie, Director of African Affairs. Haitham Al-Keib, Director of Asian and Australian Affairs, also attended. Nasser Al-Zarrouq, Director of General Protocol, was present.
The meeting addressed ways to boost bilateral relations between Libya and Chad. Discussions covered developing joint cooperation across various fields. A key focus was political coordination. They also reviewed activating signed agreements between the two nations. This aims to serve common interests. It will also support security and stability in the region.
The officials affirmed the deep historical and fraternal ties between the countries. The Libyan government expressed its commitment to strengthening cooperation frameworks with Chad. This includes coordination on issues of common interest. They emphasized the importance of continuous consultation. They also stressed increased communication between the two diplomatic institutions.
For his part, Chad’s Foreign Ministry Secretary General expressed appreciation for the warm reception. He affirmed his country’s desire to expand bilateral relations. Chad seeks to boost cooperation. This will serve the interests of both peoples. It will also bolster regional stability.
