The National Development Agency has announced an ambitious strategic agricultural project in Ubari. The project aims to develop and link the Berjuj, Tassawa, and Maknoussa projects. They will be part of a unified production system. This system will include about 1,000 pivotal agricultural circles. Each circle will cover an area of 50 hectares. It is scheduled to become operational during the 2027-2028 agricultural season.
This was noted during a meeting in Benghazi between the agency’s Director-General, Mahmoud Al-Farjani, and a delegation from the “Farm Tech” company. The agency stated the project will benefit from the company’s technical expertise. This expertise is in integrated agricultural mechanization. It will ensure the project meets the highest operational standards. It will also enhance agricultural efficiency and sustainability in desert areas.
The agency explained that Farm Tech represents major global companies manufacturing tractors and agricultural equipment. It also represents Valley Valmont, a company specializing in pivot irrigation machinery. These firms have extensive experience supporting large agricultural projects worldwide. This contributes to enhancing food security and sustainable development, particularly in difficult desert environments.
