U.S. Ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, held talks on Tuesday with outgoing prime minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, at Libyan government headquarters in Tripoli.
The two discussed the “importance of working toward a consensus with stakeholders across Libya in support of the Geneva talks between the [House of Representatives] and [High Council of State] facilitated by Stephanie Williams,” according to Norland.
“We also discussed the importance of managing oil revenues in a way that is transparent and accountable,” the American diplomat revealed. “I complimented the PM’s engagement on Mustafeed so far. I added that U.S. companies have much to offer that could help alleviate current electricity cuts.”
