Sirte – Sirte University is preparing to host the Fourth International Conference of the Libyan Infertility Society. The event will take place from May 14 to 16. It will see broad participation from doctors and consultants from inside and outside Libya. This scientific event aims to develop infertility treatment and gynecology. It also seeks to enhance the exchange of medical expertise.
Dr. Mona Al-Qubbi is the conference president. She is a consultant in obstetrics and gynecology at Ibn Sina Hospital Sirte. Dr. Al-Qubbi is also a faculty member at the Faculty of Human Medicine. She told the Libyan News Agency and Al-Wal Radio that university auditoriums would host the major scientific event. The event will feature extensive participation from various infertility centers in Libya. Visiting doctors from Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, and Syria will also attend. Professor Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Muhayshi, head of the Libyan Infertility Society, will be present.
Al-Qubbi explained that conference preparations have been ongoing. Scientific and organizational committees held regular meetings. This ensures the event meets the highest academic standards. The conference will feature a comprehensive scientific program. It will cover various aspects of infertility, women’s diseases, and fertility. The program will bring together a select group of doctors and specialists.
The first day of the conference includes scientific workshops. These will be followed by scientific sessions. Multiple themes will be discussed. Key topics include the basics of infertility and its causes. Factors affecting male and female fertility will also be covered. These include the impact of age, lifestyle, chronic diseases, and environmental and genetic factors.
Participants will also discuss the latest advanced diagnostic methods for infertility. This includes hormonal and laboratory tests. Modern imaging techniques will be explored. The role of genetic testing in accurate diagnosis will also be highlighted.
The conference will cover gynecological diseases affecting fertility. These include polycystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis, fibroids, and ovulation disorders. A section on male infertility will discuss sperm weakness, hormonal disorders, and varicocele. The latest diagnostic and treatment techniques will be reviewed.
Participants will also examine medical and surgical treatments. Assisted reproductive technologies will be a focus. These include in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). Embryo and egg freezing will also be discussed. Preimplantation genetic testing will be reviewed. The conference aims to foster integration between different medical specialties in infertility treatment. It will also study the psychological and social aspects of delayed conception. The importance of community support will be emphasized.
