The High State Council (HSC) agreed on general rules for electoral law proposal, dividing electoral districts, and distributing parliamentary seats in the upcoming Legislative House of Representatives, according to the Council’s media office.
The agreement came during a meeting of HSC’s Presidency Office on Monday in Tripoli with a committee mandated by the Council for preparing the electoral law proposal.
During the meeting, the previous election laws for the former General National Congress and the current House of Representatives (HoR) were reviewed, and general rules were agreed upon, on the basis of which the proposed election law would be drawn up, and electoral districts and seats would be distributed, HSC’s media office said on its official Facebook page, noting that the committee will continue accomplishing its work intensively and quickly.
