A military operation carried out by the Libyan National Army (LNA) forces led to eliminating dozens of mercenary groups elements who are engaged in criminal activities in the Southwestern region (Fezzan), according to LNA Moral Guidance Department.

Commander of Tariq bin Ziyad Brigade of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Colonel Omar al-Jadid, met with the Commander of 166 Battalion from Misrata, Muhammad al-Hussan, in al-Shuwairif town regarding joint agreement on securing al-Shuwairif-al-Sidada road in the Western region.
It is worth mentioning that al-Jadid had addressed a letter to the General Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, proposing the formation of a joint force with Misrata forces to secure the road linking al-Shuwairif and Al-Sadada, known as the River Road, in order to secure traffic and deliver fuel and basic needs to the Southern region (Fezzan).
