Benghazi – The Water and Wastewater Company announced a temporary reduction in water supply. This affects Benghazi today, Saturday. The reduction is scheduled from 9 AM to 2 PM. It is for technical work. This includes relocating and connecting a main 400mm water pipeline. The pipeline is located on Sudan Street. The Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund supervises this work.
The company explained the reduction. It will occur through chamber number 3. The estimated reduction volume is 60,000 cubic meters. The city’s allocated share during the work will be approximately 210,000 cubic meters.
The company stated this measure is part of a technical plan. It aims to support infrastructure projects. It also seeks to improve water network efficiency. This ensures stable supplies. It enhances the network’s capacity. This meets increasing demand across city districts. The company noted the reduction is temporary. Its impact will be limited. A slight water shortage is expected. This will affect some areas west of Benghazi. This will occur during the specified working hours.
The company affirmed the readiness of specialized technical teams. They will be present at the project site. They will monitor the work progress. This ensures completion according to approved technical standards. It also ensures completion within the specified timeframe. The company stressed it would immediately resume pumping water after completion. This is to compensate for any deficit. Water supply will return to normal levels. This maintains service stability. It limits any negative impact on citizens.
