The size of trade between Tunisia and Libya reached 2.911 billion dinars (866 million euros) at the end of 2022, an increase of 50 percent compared to 2021, according to Italian news agency Nova.
Citing Tunisian trade representative Abderrazak Meddeb, Nova reported the increase is the result of the exchange of visits between members of the government in the two countries, which led to the activation of previous agreements and the return of the transfer of goods in both directions.
The Tunisian official also stressed that the resumption of activity of Tunisian companies present in Libya before the 2011 civil war and the organization of joint trade fairs contributed to the increase in the volume of trade between the two countries.
