The British Embassy in Libya said “Libya needs an inclusive legal framework to pave the way for free, fair, credible elections beginning on 24 December.”
“The UK strongly supports the work of High National Elections Commission (HNEC) in this regard,” the Embassy tweeted on Sunday.
The Embassy retweeted the statement of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), in which the Mission urged the Libyan House of Representatives to adopt “the necessary adjustments, including those put forward by HNEC, to enable the holding of free, fair, inclusive, and credible parliamentary and presidential elections simultaneously on 24 December”.
