UN Special Adviser on Libya, Stephanie Williams, said she met Wednesday with House of Representatives (HoR) Speaker Agila Saleh in Qubba to discuss plans for next week’s final round of the Joint HoR/High Council of State (HCS) Committee talks in Cairo “aimed at establishing the constitutional framework needed to take Libya to comprehensive national elections as soon as possible.”
“I also took the opportunity to brief the Speaker on a series of meetings held in Tunis on Tuesday, including of the international Security Working Group on Libya which featured discussions with the Joint Military Commission (5+5), and with the international community, in which they voiced their unified support for finalizing work on the constitutional track,” Williams explained.
