Washington – The U.S. Department of Defense released the first batch of previously classified documents concerning unidentified aerial phenomena on Friday.
The department stated that the American people can now access the initial release of about 160 declassified files.
The Pentagon published black and white images of flying objects. It also released old documents from government departments and agencies.
The department explained that President Donald Trump decided in February to allow the release of these files. These documents relate to strange and interesting phenomena. Previous U.S. administrations avoided disclosing them.
The department indicated it will gradually release more classified files. This will allow the American people to form their own opinions about these strange phenomena.
The ministry said this move had full support from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. The Department of Energy, the Federal Aviation Administration, NASA, and the FBI also supported it.
