Head of the Emergency Medicine and Support Center (EMSC) – Tripoli, Muhammad Kablan, has announced that 51 bodies of Storm Daniel flood victims were found in six valleys in the municipality of Derna.
The Center’s team found 17 bodies in Wadi Al-Assad, and recovered only four of them, while it did not succeed in recovering the rest of the bodies due to the difficulty of the mountainous terrain, Kaplan said in a press conference on Tuesday.
Kaplan added that the teams recovered 20 bodies in Wadi Laqi in Al-Fatayeh, and also found 14 bodies among the rocks at the valleys of Luqa, Shaq Al-Watar and Halq Al-Batoum in Derna, and succeeded in recovering three bodies from them.
He pointed out that a fifth team reached a site containing many bodies on the eastern coast of Wadi Derna, but recovering them requires careful excavation within a range of five meters in all directions.
