Parliament Adviser: We continue work with road map, Libyan state is independent and sovereign

Aguila Saleh, Speaker of Parliament, and Khaled Al-Mashri, Chairman of the State Council, did not reach an understanding about the conditions for running for elections, with regard to holders of foreign nationalities and the candidacy of the military, the spokesman for the House of Representatives, Fathi Al-Marimi said.

Al-Marimi added, in press statements, that the militias are one of the main causes of force majeure that led to the postponement of the elections.

He pointed out that the House of Representatives issued the presidential and parliamentary elections laws, but the High Elections Commission declared a state of force majeure, as a result of militia practices.
