“Ambassadors of Tolerance” Program Launches in Benghazi to Promote Dialogue and Reconciliation

Benghazi – The “Ambassadors of Tolerance 2026” program launched Sunday in Benghazi. Organized by the Ara’a Foundation for Development and Youth, the event is part of activities marking the International Day of Peace. The program aims to train Libyan youth, promote dialogue and reconciliation, and counter hate speech.

The initiative targets Libyans aged 20 to 35, including university students, journalists, content creators, civil society members, and young leaders. It is part of the “Pioneering Libyan Youth Forum” project.

International trainer Hanadi Mugheeb told the Libyan News Agency that the first group began in Benghazi. The program will expand to other cities, including Al-Marj, Al-Bayda, Tobruk, Tajoura, and Tripoli, after completing the necessary approvals.

According to Mugheeb, the program features practical training meetings, such as the “Chair of Difference” session which brings together varied viewpoints under the umbrella of citizenship. Another session, the “Silent Court,” focuses on presenting specialized youth projects.

Mugheeb emphasized that the program’s key message is that “Libya unites everyone.” She noted that the activities will end on September 21, with a graduation ceremony for participants and recognition of the best projects.

Yousef Al-Aqouri, head of the Libya Dignity Party, stated the party’s support for the project across Libyan cities and regions. He stressed the importance of supporting initiatives that build youth capabilities and promote stability, reconciliation, and peace in the country.
