Algeria – Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf met today with Maasaad Boulos. Boulos is the US President’s Advisor for Africa, Arab Affairs, and the Middle East. They discussed several current issues in the Arab world. The Libyan crisis was a top priority.
The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement. It said the meeting took place at the Ministry’s headquarters in Algiers. Views were exchanged on key current issues. These issues concern the Arab world and the African continent. They specifically discussed developments in Libya. The Sahel and Sahara region was also a topic. Western Sahara was included as well.
During the meeting, both parties highlighted the importance of strengthening strategic dialogue. This dialogue exists between Algeria and the United States. They reaffirmed the need to continue the positive momentum. This momentum characterizes their bilateral partnership. Economic fields are especially important.
