The International Organization for Migration (IOM) team met with the Austria Ambassador to Libya last week, pledging ongoing collaboration on the Storm Daniel Response and Recovery in eastern Libya, according to the IOM.
“Austria remains a key IOM partner supporting migration management efforts in Libya, including assistance to displaced communities,” said IOM via X.
In September 10, Storm Daniel lashed a massive flash flood that has left over 4000 dead and thousands missing in eastern Libya.
The storm affected several cities, including Benghazi, Bayda, Al Marj, and Soussa, resulting in massive destruction of infrastructure and a significant loss of life.
