The Libyan Prime Minister, Fathi Bashagha, said that securing land and sea borders and building the capabilities of the security forces are among the government’s priorities.
He added that the selection of suitable and experienced international partners in this field is essential to the success of this mission.
He said in a tweet: “I had successful experiences in the past in the security field and I look forward to building on those experiences.”
This came after his visit on Wednesday to the city of Ghat, accompanied by a ministerial delegation, where Bashagha visited the Essin crossing at the Libyan-Algerian border.
During the visit, he inspected the security teams at the crossing and got acquainted with their needs.
Bashagha stressed the need to build the capabilities of the security forces responsible for guarding the country’s land and sea ports, and to provide the latest surveillance technologies.
