Former Tajoura Mayor Husien Ben Atia, has commented on the ongoing protests in Al-Zawia, highlighting the importance of dealing with people’s demands wisely, peacefully, and calmly. In a Facebook post, Ben Atia stated that stability is achieved through “justice, proper management of public funds, and stopping looting and corruption, away from delusion, deception, and fraud.”
The comments of Ben Atia come amidst ongoing protests in Al-Zawia, west of Tripoli, where citizens are demanding action from local authorities to address the deteriorating security situation in the city, as well as the increase in crime and the issue of irregular migrants. The protests have been ongoing for several days, highlighting the growing concerns of citizens over the challenges facing Libya.
