Berniq Airways suspends flights to Sudan following unrest

Berniq Airways suspends flights to Sudan following unrest

Berniq Airways announced the suspension of its flights to Khartoum Airport until further notice due to the development of the security situation and the violent clashes in the Sudanese capital between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the army.

The airliner said in a statement that the step came “due to the unrest in the security situation in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, especially in the vicinity of Khartoum International Airport”.

Since Saturday morning, the Sudanese capital has been witnessing fierce clashes between the Sudanese army, which is under the authority of the head of the Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and the RSF, which is under the control of Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as Hemetti.
