UN Humanitarian Coordinator, Georgette Gagnon, and UN Secretary General’s Special Adviser on Solutions to Internal Displacement, Robert Piper, visited Benghazi today, where they met with local officials to “hear about the challenges faced displaced people from Tawergha,” according to a statement by the UN Support Mission in Libya.
Both UN representatives met with the deputy mayor of Benghazi and municipality officials “to learn about the work the municipality has done with communities to address issues faced by IDPs in Benghazi, and what needs to be done to solve the remaining challenges.”
