Today, Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio is visiting Benghazi and Cyrenaica to meet a number of effective Libyan officials and discuss the Libyan crisis.
The Libya Update has learned that the Italian Foreign Minister will meet with Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar in Al-Rajma. At the top of the agenda of the meeting will be preparations for general elections in December, as well as efforts to remove mercenaries and foreign forces from Libya.
Di Maio will also meet with the Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, to discuss the latest developments in the country, including the constitutional framework for the December elections and ways to support them and hold them on time.
