A meeting was held today between Mahmud Elforjani, Chairman of the Board and General Manager of the Sirte Free Zone, and Jeremy Brendt, Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Libya.
The meeting focused on development projects in the Sirte Free Zone, particularly those related to improving educational infrastructure and increasing learning opportunities for youth, in addition to developing the health sector, infrastructure, and empowering youth in the central and southern regions.
The importance of cooperation with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the American Chamber of Commerce in Libya to support development efforts in the Free Zone was also emphasized.
Jeremy Brendt commended the role that the Sirte Free Zone can play in enhancing the local economy and contributing to the country’s stability.
He expressed interest in visiting Sirte in the future to observe ongoing projects and strengthen future partnerships.
