Bint Baya – The Ministry of Health confirmed that a medical convoy has headed to hospitals in the southwest for the second time this week, as part of the Ministry of Health’s efforts to alleviate the suffering of patients and provide specialized medical services to citizens in those areas.
The Ministry explained that the convoy includes teams specializing in general surgery, specialized surgery, and ear, nose, and throat surgery, in addition to internal medicine and cardiology. It targeted the Bint Baya and Al-Ghrifa hospitals due to a large number of cases requiring medical care, and the previous convoy demonstrated the region’s significant need for these specialties.
It noted that these convoys will be scheduled on a continuous and permanent basis to ease the burden on citizens and improve their access to healthcare, clarifying that this initiative is part of a series of medical convoys organized by the Ministry with support from the General Command and directives from the Libyan Government, under the supervision of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Abdulsalam Aqila.
The Ministry also affirmed that these convoys are part of a comprehensive plan to reform the health sector and ensure treatment services reach all regions, aiming to enhance the quality of medical care and directly meet the needs of citizens.
