Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, the General Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), has congratulated French President Emmanuel Macron on winning his country’s presidential elections during Sunday vote.
Addressing Macron in a letter, of which The Libya Update obtained a copy, Haftar thanked the French president for his “real support” to LNA in “combatting terrorism”.
“We look forward to more fruitful cooperation between the two countries across different areas,” the Libyan military leader concluded.
