The city of Benghazi is preparing to host the “First Annual Arab Media Conference – Libya 2025,” which kicks off in three days, running from September 15 to 17. Organized by the Al-Raya Al-Libiya Media Company, the event will gather 45 prominent media figures and communication experts from across the Arab world, making it the first of its kind in Libya. The conference aims to strengthen Libya’s media presence on the Arab stage and to foster cooperation and the exchange of expertise between Libyan professionals and their Arab counterparts.
The conference will feature a packed agenda of panel discussions and workshops focusing on the future of media amid the digital transformation, and strategies to enhance professional skills to meet current challenges. The Faculty of Media at the University of Benghazi will participate with a delegation of faculty members and around 50 students, aiming to integrate young academic talents into the professional Arab media dialogue and allow them to benefit from the expertise of participants.
Emphasizing the event’s significance, the organizing committee aspires for the conference to be a launching point for establishing a solid Libyan media foundation capable of influencing the Arab and international scenes. As part of its agenda, the event will also honor the pioneers who established radio and television in Libya from the period of 1965 to 1977, in recognition of their historic contributions to the nation’s media landscape.
