The first meeting of the Libya-Italy Military Cooperation Committee in 2023 was held in Tripoli between 7 and 8 June, revealed the Ministry of Defense of the Government of National Unity of Libya (GNU) in a statement on its Facebook page yesterday.
The meeting is part of the joint technical-military cooperation between the Libyan and Italian defense ministries.
During the talks, the parties discussed “a series of issues of common interest […] aimed at developing joint bilateral cooperation in the field of defence”. Furthermore, the revision of the “cooperation plan for the year 2022-2023” and the “preparation of the objective plan for the year 2024” were addressed.
Finally, the meeting provided the occasion for an “exchange of views on cooperation and consultation”.
