Libya records 1479 new cases, 23 deaths of COVID-19

The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) has reported on Thursday that 1,479 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 20 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 23 others died of the virus, while 1,600 have recovered during the same reporting period.

The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 312,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 224,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.

The virus has claimed the lives of 4,286 people in total, while over a million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
