Libya records 679 new cases, 11 deaths of COVID-19

The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) reported on Sunday that 679 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 19 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 11 others died of the virus, while 2,177 have recovered during the same reporting period.

126 people are in “critical” condition, said the NCDC.

The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 497,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 474,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.

The virus has claimed the lives of 6,299 people in total. Over two million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while over one million were fully vaccinated with two doses.
