The Italian Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, revealed an upcoming visit by Foreign Minister of the Libyan Government of National Unity, Najla Mangoush, to Rome in early February to take important new steps in the field of joint cooperation between the two countries.
Speaking in an interview with local TV channel ‘Libya Al-Ahrar’, Tajani said Italy is ready to provide support and achieve development in Libya, and it is also working to strengthen cooperation in many sectors and files, including combating illegal immigration, investment and exploration in the field of oil and gas.
He also expressed his country’s desire to involve the European Union in this process more to confront the illegal movement of migrants across the Mediterranean.
