BENGHAZI – Ali al-Tekbali, a member of Libya’s House of Representatives, stated that European allies of the United States are currently seeking to move Libya towards a new unified government to oversee national elections and end the transitional phases.
In press statements, al-Tekbali indicated that European countries aim to preserve their interests, especially ensuring the continuity of Libyan oil supplies to Europe.
Al-Tekbali explained that events demonstrate the importance of establishing a unified executive authority to be a bulwark against any foreign ambitions targeting Libya. He noted that the Libyan-Nigerien border will remain unchanged and the regional balance of power will not waver.
The lawmaker pointed out that the balance of power will not change, and no new developments will occur along the southern Libyan border, which will remain the same. Al-Tekbali added that the AFRICOM forces monitoring these areas will not allow the birth of any new international conflict.
