Hussein Al-Qatrani, the Deputy Prime Minister, held talks on Tuesday with Justice Minister Halima Ibrahim regarding prison reforms in Benghazi.
According to a statement by Al-Qatrani’s office, the two specifically discuss the conditions of Qarnadah and Al-Kuwaifiya prions, both of which located in Benghazi.
Al-Qatrani pointed out that the two prisons are overcrowded and many inmates do not have access to proper food and medicine. The deputy premier called for “construction of compounds for these prisons to address the issue of overcrowding as soon as possible.”
