The President of the Libyan Presidential Council (LPC), Mohamed al-Menfi, has called for an end to the plans of the Israeli occupation forces for a ground invasion of Gaza Strip.
Al-Menfi urged, in his speech during the opening session of the Egypt International Peace Summit, to stop what is happening in Gaza immediately, noting that the occupation’s practices have exceeded all international norms and laws.
The Summit, which began on Saturday, aims to discuss the future of the Palestinian cause and the peace process, after the Israeli aggression on Gaza, which has entered its fifteenth day.
The Egypt International Peace Summit comes after the cancellation of the American-Egyptian-Palestinian-Jordanian quadrilateral summit that was scheduled to be held in the Jordanian capital, Amman.
On Friday, a number of Libyan cities witnessed massive demonstrations in solidarity and support for the Palestinian people and denouncing the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the death and injury of thousands of Palestinians, including a large number of children and women.
