The Speaker of Libya’s House of Representatives (HoR), Aquila Saleh, held talks on Tuesday with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Hanna Tetteh, and her accompanying delegation.
The meeting, which took place at Saleh’s office in Al-Qubbah, discussed the latest developments in the country on various levels, according to HoR Speaker’s Media Office.
This meeting comes amid ongoing international efforts to resolve Libya’s political deadlock and pave the way for national elections. The UN has repeatedly stressed the need for a unified government to ensure lasting peace in the North African nation.
