Abdullah Qadirbouh, Head of the Administrative Control Authority, participated in the first annual general meeting of the MENA-ARIN network, held in Jeddah from October 8–9, 2025. The meeting was attended by high-level representatives from member states, as well as international and regional organizations and networks dedicated to combating corruption and asset recovery.
At the beginning of his address, Qadirbouh expressed his gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by its Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, for the outstanding hosting and organization, commending its efforts in strengthening regional and international cooperation. He called for unifying efforts among counterpart agencies in member states to combat corruption and promote integrity and transparency within national frameworks.
The MENA-ARIN network is a pivotal part of a global system that includes ten regional asset recovery networks. It aims to accelerate the exchange of information and expertise, enhance the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) and the recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), build bridges of trust between nations, support the capacities of national agencies, and disrupt the sources of organized crime by recovering illicit proceeds.
The first annual meeting marks the official launch of the network’s operations, which is expected to consolidate effective regional cooperation, enhance international partnerships, and establish faster, more efficient mechanisms to address the common challenges related to asset recovery and to entrench the principles of integrity and transparency in the region.
